Stewardship

Stewardship

Stewardship is a fancy (and biblical) word for taking seriously the management of something entrusted to our care. As followers of Jesus, our Lord has entrusted His people to our care.  As parishioners at Visitation, we do our best to take the next step daily, to grow closer to Christ.  Giving is an important part of that walk with Jesus.  As thoughtful givers we intentionally make our offerings to God in our place of worship as an act of worship.  Thoughtful giving grows our faith as we grow our parish community.

The first step as a thoughtful giver is to evaluate both our current giving and how we might grow it. Just as costs of living rise each year – so do expenses for our Faith Family.  As such – a good challenge is to consider giving 1% more of our annual income in addition to the amount we already give.  If we have not been giving regularly – then the challenge is to begin.

Pray

Heavenly Father – all heaven and earth belongs to you and everything I have is your gift – even my very life.  Please help me with your grace.  May trust in You take the place of my dependence on material things.  Let me know you as you truly are – a Father who cares deeply for me and cannot be outdone in generosity. Please show me how you want me to use the money and resources you have given me to build your Kingdom. I thank you for the ability to worship you by extending blessings to my neighbor. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Consider Making your Gift Automatic

Disciples make giving a part of their plan. Prayerfully consider making your gift to Visitation automatic. You can set up an automatic gift through your checking account, or through your debit/credit card (using Canada Helps). Thank you for living out your Baptismal call with us at Visitation!
