Squirettes of Mary

squiretteslogoWho we are:

The Squirettes of Mary is a Catholic Girls group for young ladies ages 11 -18. Our Circle is sponsored by our local CWL.

The Squirette Program was founded by Father Michael Keane, Father Prior of the Immaculate Conception Circle of Columbian Squires in Colton, California. Father Keane felt that there should be some comparable group for Catholic girls as there was for boys. Through his efforts, the first Squirette of Mary Circlette was formed. The organization has a very active program planned by the members under the guidance of their Counselors.  At the present time, Circles are operating in the United States, Canada, the Philippines and Japan.

Visitation’s Squirette’s of Mary circle takes mentorship of young women seriously – there is nothing stronger than a band of sisters!  We gather to plan and execute charitable activities for our area, enjoy social events with one another and act as an active support arm to our local parish.

PATRON – The patron of the Squirettes of Mary is Mary the Mother of God.

PURPOSE – The object of the organization is the spiritual, moral and intellectual advancement of its members, the promotion of that which is best, both in their church and community life.

CIRCLES – The Squirettes are comprised of Circles, which are patterned similarly to the Columbian Squires. Each Circle is sponsored by an organized and exemplary Catholic Women’s Organization.

HOW THE ORGANIZATION WORKS – We are a “for youth by youth” organization.  Together with our councilors we choose, plan and direct our charitable, faith based and social activities.  The Squirettes elect their own officers.
